Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground turkey or lean ground beef
  • 1 C. chopped onion
  • 2/3 C. Italian-style seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 C. chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/2 C. chili sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic - minced
  • 2 eggs - slightly beaten
  • 2 Tbs. Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 14 tsp. black pepper
  • Salsa (for topping)

Directions

In large bowl, mix all ingredients except salsa. Shape into a round loaf and place on foil strips in the crockpot. Cover and cook on low for about 5 to 6 hours, or until juices run Clear. Remove from slow cooker and top with salsa, if desired.

Yields: 6 to 8 servings.

  • I'm sure the recipe must mean 1/4 tsp. black pepper rather than 14 tsp. black pepper. Otherwise it looks delicious. I use medium hot salsa in my meatloaves and get lots of compliments, so I'm anxious to try this one.
