  • 2 C. all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 1/2 C. beer
  • 3 lb. cod fillets, skinless and cut into medium pieces
  • Plate of prepared fries
  • Malt vinegar for serving

Heat about 2 inches of cooking oil in a skillet. In a mixing bowl, stir together flour, paprika, salt and pepper. Slowing add beer and stir until smooth. Dip each fish piece into batter. Allow excess to drain off and then place into hot oil on skillet. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes, turning once after 3 minutes. After both sides are golden brown and crispy, remove and keep warm in oven until all portions are cooked. Sprinkle with malt vinegar and serve fish with hot fries.
