  • 2 lb. russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 T. cream cheese
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ½ C. heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 T. butter
  • 2 T. flour
  • 1 C. beef broth
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • Dash paprika

In a large pot of salted water, boil potatoes for 10 minutes until tender. Drain and transfer to a bowl. Mash and mix in cream cheese, egg yolk, cream, salt, and pepper. In a large skillet, brown beef until no longer pink. Add in onion and sauté until softened. In a small saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour. Cook for a minute and then whisk in broth and Worcestershire until thickens. Pour over beef, heat briefly, and transfer to a greased baking dish. Top with mashed potatoes and broil in the oven for a few minutes until top is golden.
