Flank Steak Teriyaki-Style

Tender flank steak in a sweet brown sugar-pineapple sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. flank steak
  • one 15-oz. can sliced pineapple, liquid reserved
  • 1 Tbs. white wine Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/3 C. packed brown sugar
  • 3 Tbs. soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • one 14-oz. can chicken broth
  • 1 C. uncooked long-grain converted rice

Directions

Roll flank steak, tie, and cut into 7-8 individual steaks.  In a large bowl, combine 1/2 cup pineapple juice, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, soy sauce, and ginger.  Marinate steaks for 1 hour in the mixture.  Pour chicken broth into slow cooker sprayed with vegetable cooking spray. Add rice and 3/4 cup water. Place steaks over rice and broth.  Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
