In the mood for some French toast, but want a slightly more indulgent version of the classic? This recipe for fluffy and crispy French toast is made with brioche, which really increases the taste factor here. Serve with some sliced berries on the side and enjoy.

  • 3 Tbs. sugar
  • 6 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice
  • 4 Tbs. butter, divided
  • 12 slices thick brioche bread

Heat oven to 230 degrees. In a stand mixer or bowl using a hand mixer, mix the eggs, cream, 3 Tbs of sugar, and spices. Pour into a 9X13 baking dish. Place brioche slices into the casserole dish and allow to soak for at least 2 minutes.

Heat a large griddle over the highest heat, and place about 2 Tbs. of unsalted butter on the griddle. Cook the French toast for about 2 minutes per side or until golden brown. Transfer to warm oven on a cookie sheet while you finish the batches.

Serve warm with remaining butter and syrup.
