French Baguette with Ricotta, Prosciutto and Marsala Figs

Baguette slices are spread with ricotta cheese, topped with thinly sliced proscuitto and dried figs in Marsala wine. The wine gives the figs an even sweeter taste that really goes well with the salty prosciutto and smoothness of the ricotta.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of French baguette, cut 1/2-inch thick
  • 1/4 lb. fresh ricotta cheese
  • 8 thin slices prisciuto
  • 6 dried figs, quartered
  • 2 Tbs. dry Marsala wine

Directions

Cut the 6 figs into quarters and place in small bowl. Add 2 Tbs. Marsala wine and let sit while preparing the rest of the appetizer. Spread ricotta cheese on the 8 slices of French baguette, top each with one slice of the prosciutto and 3 pieces of fig soaked in the Marsala wine.
