  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 ¼ cups chocolate chips
  • 1 pint French vanilla ice cream

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F to begin. Then, in a medium bowl, cream together the butter, and white and brown sugar. When the mixture is smooth, gradually beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in the vanilla. In a small bowl, dissolve the baking soda in hot water and then add this to the batter. Add the salt and stir in the flour and chocolate chips. Role the batter into bowls and place on a baking pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Let the cookies cool and harden a little bit. Then flip over half of the cookies and scoop vanilla ice cream onto the turned over cookies. Top the ice cream with the remaining cookies and gently press down to form the sandwich.
