Begin by creating a marinade for your chicken and shrimp by combining the buttermilk, hot sauce, and half of the spices -- the paprika, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, and thyme -- and lemon juice in a large bowl. Then, separate this mixture into two resealable plastic bags and place your shrimp in one and your chicken (with holes poked in it if you want a stronger flavor) in the other. Leave this in your fridge for at least 30-60 minutes before using.

Next, heat the vegetable oil in two deep skillets over a medium-high heat until the temperature reaches 360-365 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine the remaining spices with the flour and coat the chicken and shrimp in that mixture. Then, fry them until they’re golden brown -- around 2-5 minutes. Allow them to drain on a paper towel before adding to the rest of your sandwich.

Finally, place lettuce and pickles on the bottom slices of the French bread and layer your shrimp and chicken on top. Combine your sauce ingredients -- your mayonnaise, horseradish, pickle relish, hot sauce, garlic, cayenne pepper, and paprika -- and drizzle on top for an unforgettable meal.
