Fried Pizza

This is a quick way to cook pizza. It isn't loaded down with toppings so it's light in flavor.

  • prepared dough (size of one regular pizza)
  • prepared sauce, heated
  • grated Parmesan cheese
  • fresh basil, rough chopped
  • fresh buffalo mozzarella, thinly sliced
  • canola or other light oil

Preheat cast iron skillet and drizzle with oil. Once dough has risen and is ready for use, cut into 4 pieces. Form dough into small circles, with edges around the sides. Place dough in skillet and fry until golden on one side. Flip the dough, add sauce and grated cheese and mozzarella. Tent with foil, leaving open so steam escapes. Once the second side is lightly browned, remove to plate. Sprinkle with fresh basil.
