  • 3 1/2 oz. butter, room temperature
  • 3 1/2 oz. confectioners' sugar
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 10 oz. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Icing:
  • 14 oz. icing sugar
  • 3-4 Tbs. water
  • 2-3 drops food coloring

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until well combined. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, a little at a time, until the mixture is well combined. Stir in the flour until a dough forms.

Roll the dough out onto a floured work surface. Using any shape cookie cutters desired, cut the dough into shapes. Put them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until pale golden color. Cool before icing.

For the icing, combine the sugar with enough water to create a smooth mixture. Stir in the food coloring and spread it on the cookies.
