  • Cake:
  • 1 C. buttermilk
  • 1 C. hot coffee
  • 1 lb. caster sugar
  • 2 oz. cocoa powder
  • 10 oz. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 ½ tsp. baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 100 g. butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • Frosting:
  • 3 T. espresso
  • 7 oz. butter, room temperature
  • 21 oz. icing sugar
  • 50 g. cocoa powder
  • 100 g. dark chocolate, melted
  • Extra:
  • Coffee beans

Preheat the oven to 355 degrees. Grease 2 cake pans with a non-stick cooking spray. In a bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. In another bowl, combine the wet ingredients. Transfer the wet mixture into the dry one. Divide the batter evenly into both prepared cake pans. Bake for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, mix the frosting in an electric mixer. Remove the cakes from the oven. Let them cool. Place one on to a cake plate. Frost the top of it. Place the other cake on top of the other. Frost the whole cake. Sprinkle a few coffee beans on top. Serve and enjoy!
