Fruit Cake Cookies

These bring me memories of my Grandmother, she made them every Christmas and the smell in her home while they were baking always makes me feel warm inside. I hope you enjoy them as much as we always did.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 3 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 3 tsp milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 lb. candied cherries
  • 3 C. flour
  • 1 lb. candied pineapples
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 C. chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 C. bourbon
  • 1 tsp. Allspice

Directions

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Add milk. Reserve 1 1/2 cups flour to dredge fruit. Mix remaining 1 1/2 cups flour with other dry ingredients and sift together. Add to sugar and butter mixture. Add dredged fruit and nuts; mix well. Last add bourbon and mix well. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 15 minutes.
