Fruit Drops
Ingredients
- 3-1/2 C. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 C. soft butter or margarine
- 2 C. packed light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 C. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 C. chopped nuts
- 2 C. candied cherries, cut in 1/2
- 2 C. cut up dates (1 whole box)
- Nut half
Directions
Stir together in bowl: flour, baking soda, salt. Put soft butter in medium sized bowl. Add brown sugar and eggs. Beat with mixer or wooden spoon until light and fluffy. Add buttermilk, vanilla and flour mixture. Mix well. Stir in: nuts, candied cherries, dates. Drop by teaspoonfuls on lightly greased cookie pan. Top with nut half. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
Yield: 8 dozen
