German Chocolate Pound Cake

Ingredients
- 2 C. sugar
- 1 C. vegetable shortening
- 4 eggs
- 1 C. buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. butter extract
- 3 C. flour, sifted
- 1 German chocolate, melted
Directions
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Mix sugar and spry. Add eggs and mix until creamy. Sift flour and baking soda. Add to spry, eggs and sugar. Add buttermilk and flavor. Place in a well-greased and floured tube pan. Bake in oven for 90 minutes. Check cake after 1 hour and 20 minutes with toothpick. If done, remove from pan and place under air tight cake pan until cool.
