German Party Meatballs

This appetizer is always a hit at parties! It's packed with flavor and is topped off with a yogurt-based sauce. Yummy!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. equal parts ground beef, veal, and pork
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tbs. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbs. parsley, chopped
  • 2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • ½ tsp. lemon rind, grated
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • ½ C. dried mustard
  • 2 Tbs. parsley, chopped
  • Sauce
  • 1 can (10 ½ oz.) onion soup
  • 1 Tbs. cornstarch
  • 1 C. Voskos Greek Yogurt (plain)
  • 2 Tbs. chopped pickles

Directions

Combine the ground meat, onion, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, paprika, salt, pepper, lemon rind, and nutmeg; stir in the eggs.

Shape into meatballs about 1 inch diameter. Roll in the mustard, then broil until browned.

Heat together the onion soup and cornstarch, then stir in the yogurt and chopped pickles.

When ready to serve, top with yogurt sauce and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
