Ginger Snaps

This is a yummy recipe handed down by my maternal grandmother. She was an excellent grandmother in that she did not just make them for the holidays!

Ingredients

  • 2 C. plain flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 C. Crisco or substitute
  • l egg
  • 1 Tbs. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1/4 C. molasses

Directions

Cream sugar and Crisco. Add molasses and egg; beat in dry ingredients. Roll into small 1-inch balls, dip in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet. BakeĀ at 375 degrees until tops are cracked and lightly browned. *Do not press down with a glass!
