Mix up your holiday popcorn and try our Gingerbread Popcorn. The gingerbread flavor comes from ginger mixed with brown sugar, molasses and other spices.

  • 15 C. popped popcorn
  • 1 C. butter
  • 2 C. brown sugar
  • ¼ C. molasses
  • ¼ C. dark corn syrup
  • 1 Tbs. ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. cloves
  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. baking soda

Coat a large bowl with cooking spray and place the popcorn inside.

Apply butter on the sides of a heavy saucepan and add the remaining butter, brown sugar, molasses, corn syrup, salt, cinnamon and ginger. Heat the mixture over medium heat while stirring constantly until it boils. Let the mixture boil for 5 extra minutes without stirring. Remove the mixture from heat and stir it in baking soda.

Quickly pour the mixture over popcorn and mix it thoroughly. Transfer the mixture to different baking pans and bake at 250 degrees for about 1 hour while stirring after every 10 minutes.

Remove the popcorn from the pans and allow them to cool on a waxed paper. The large pieces can be manually broken down to enjoy.

Store the popcorn in an air tight container.
