  • 1 lb. beef stew meat
  • 12 cloves garlic
  • ½ stick butter
  • 2 T. flour
  • 1 shallot, diced
  • 1 (14 oz.) can beef broth
  • 1 C. red wine
  • 2 tsp. thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

In a large skillet, melt butter and sauté whole cloves of garlic and shallot. Brown stew meat in the same skillet and sprinkle with flour, salt, and pepper. When beef is no longer pink, transfer into your crockpot. Pour in beef broth, wine, thyme, and additional salt and pepper. Stir well and cook on high for 3-4 hours as sauce thickens.
