  • 3 C. + 2 T. flour, divided
  • Dash salt
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tsp. vanilla extract, divided
  • 1 ½ C. + 5 T. milk, divided
  • 3 sticks butter, divided
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 1 T. cinnamon
  • 2 C. powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, eggs, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, and 1 ½ cups of milk with an electric mixer. Slowly mix in 1 stick of melted butter into batter until just incorporated. Pour batter into a greased 9x13 pan. In a separate bowl, combine 2 sticks of softened butter, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, and cinnamon. Drop spoonfuls of mixture into cake batter and use a knife to swirl designs evenly throughout. Bake for 40 minutes until an inserted knife comes out clean. When completely baked, poke a few hole in the cake. Make the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, 5 tablespoons of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Pour over cake and the glaze will fill holes as well as areas where the cinnamon mixture has cracked and separated from the batter.
