  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large onions cut into rings
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • Vegetable oil for frying

In a bowl of ice water, soak onion rings for an hour. After, dry and pat down with paper towels. Using a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup and 2 Tbsp. flour, milk, egg, 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil, and salt. Using a deep fryer, heat up oil. Or you can use a medium sauce pan to heat up the oil (if so heat up to 375 degrees F). In batches, dip onion rings into the fryer or sauce pan. Fry each batch for 5 minutes.
