  • 5 lb. Golden Delicious or Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2 T. lemon juice
  • ¾ stick butter
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 2 T. flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. allspice
  • Dash nutmeg
  • 2 T. sugar
  • Refrigerated pie crusts

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice until evenly coated. In a large pot, melt butter and add in apples and brown sugar. Stir and cook for about 15 minutes over medium heat until tender. Mix in flour, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and sugar. Fill pie crust with apple mixture, top with second pie crust, pinch edges together, and bake for an hour until crust is golden and apples are bubbly.
