  • 2 cups of Brussels sprouts
  • 1/3 cup of smoked bacon
  • 1/3 cup of walnuts
  • A teaspoon of olive oil
  • Salt and teaspoon to season
  • 1 lemon (for zest and juicing)

In a mid-sized pot, pour 2 cups of water to boil. As the water starts to bowl boiling, take out the out leaves of the Brussels sprouts, trim the bottom and cut them in half.
Season the water with a pinch of salt. Boil the Brussels sprouts for 2 minutes in high heat or until the Brussels sprouts are tender.
Cut the smoked bacon in dices. In a mid-sized sauté pan or frying pan, add a teaspoon of olive oil to cook the smoked bacon. Season the bacon with salt and pepper.
Drain the Brussels sprouts and combine them with the bacon. Mix until it is nicely blended.
Add the walnuts and stir well with the bacon and Brussels sprouts.
Zest half a lemon and squeeze half the juice of the lemon. Mix well until flavors are well combined.
