Grandma Annette's 7-Layer Taco Dip

This is a family favorite in my house and there's never a scoop left. It's so easy to throw together and looks really nice on the table (before everyone hacks into it!).

  • 2 cans bean dip (Fritos' is my favorite)
  • 3-4 avocados
  • 2 Tbs. lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 C. sour cream
  • 1/2 C. mayonnaise
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning
  • 2-3 tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 1 small can black olives, sliced
  • Shredded cheddar cheese

Pit avocados, mix with lemon juice and set aside. Combine sour cream, mayonnaise and taco seasoning until well-blended. Layer ingredients starting with bean dip, then avocado, taco seasoning-mayo mixture, tomatoes, green onions, olives and finish off with cheddar cheese on top. This works best if you use a platter with a lip so the dip doesn't slide.

  • I use guacamole dip for the avacado mixture. Then it's really a quick dip!

  • It may originally be a Frito's recipe, but I learned this from my Grandma so I'm giving credit to her. :) I'm willing to be there are lots of "family recipes" that came from elsewhere. Regardless, it's delicious and everyone will love it!

  • This is no GRANDMA'S receipe. It has been on the back of the label of FRITOS'S bean dip for over ten plus years. They just recently took it off the back label. Give credit where credit is due and not to someone who copied the receipe and called it her own.
