Ingredients

  • 1 package pie crust
  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 3 Tbs. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 C. brown sugar
  • 1/4 C. water
  • 8 large apples - peeled, cored, and sliced

Melt butter in a saucepan and add white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and water. Simmer 5 minutes. In a bowl, coat apple slices with sauce mixture. To assemble the pie, place the bottom crust in your pan, fill with apples and over with a latticework crust. Bake for about 1 hour at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
