Granny Mann's Sweet Bread
Ingredients
- 3 C. flour
- 3. Tbs. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbs. Crisco
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbs. yeast (1 dry pack)
- 1 C. warm water
Directions
Combine flour, sugar, and salt. Using fork, blend in Crisco and 1 egg. Dissolve together yeast and warm water and then add to dough. Cover and let double in size (overnight is OK). Roll out 1/2" thick and use biscuit cutter or shape into small loaf. Place in greased pan (if making rolls, place them close together so they rise higher). "Paint" with melted butter. Allow to rise. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes.
