This is an easy to make cobbler that is irresistibly good. It has been in my family for years and is still the best peach cobbler I have tasted. Sweet to the last bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. peaches (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 box yellow or butter cake mix
  • 1 pkg. instant oatmeal (cinnamon or pecan)
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 sticks butter

Directions

Arrange peaches in bottom of a 13x9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle instant oatmeal on top of peaches. Take 1/4 stick of butter and cut into thin pieces (approx. six squares) and put on top of instant oatmeal. Sprinkle dry cake mix over entire contents (breaking clumps) and spread as even as possible. Take 1 tsp. of cinnamon and sprinkle over cake mix. Now cut 1 whole stick of butter into small slices and layer on top covering as much of cake mix as possible. Bake in preheated 350-degree oven for approx. 1 hour or until top is golden brown. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipping cream.
