This recipe is just plain delicious. You can make this Greek-inspired dish so fast, you'll feel like the God or Goddess of your kitchen. Not to mention, the Tzatziki sauce is easily made and stored to smother over other dishes.

Ingredients

  • GYROS MEAT:
  • ½ Lb lean ground lamb
  • ½ Lb lean ground beef
  • 4 Cloves garlic, grated
  • ¼ tsp all spice powder
  • ¼ Cup grated onions (squeezed to remove liquid)
  • 1¼ tsp salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • TZATZIKI SAUCE:
  • 1 Cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 Clove garlic, grated
  • 1 Tbs lemon juice
  • 1 tsp dill weed (or more!)
  • TO SERVE:
  • Pita bread
  • Sliced onions
  • Sliced tomatoes

Directions

In a large bowl combine the lamb, beef, garlic, all spice powder, onions, salt, and pepper. Shape the meat into as many small patties as you'd like.

In a different bowl, combine all the ingredients for the tzatziki sauce. Add salt and pepper to taste.

In a large pan, heat 1 Tbs of oil and fry the patties until they are cooked to desired doneness.

Before serving warm the pita bread, layer with meat patties, sliced onions, tomatoes, lettuce and any other topping. Top with tzatziki sauce and serve immediately.
