  • ½ C. warm water
  • 3 tbs. honey
  • 1 tbs. dry active yeast
  • 1 ½ C. whole-wheat flour
  • 2 ¾ C. all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • ½ C. whole-grain cereal
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 ½ C. vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp. butter, melted

Mix water, honey and yeast in a large bowl. Allow mixture to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes. In a separate bowl, combine whole-wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda and cereal.

Beat half of flour mixture into honey mixture. Stir in yogurt and butter. Add in remaining half of flour mixture. Beat for 5 minutes or until smooth. Transfer mixture to an oiled bowl. Cover and let sit for 1 hour or until dough has risen.

Form dough into 10 small balls. Form balls into a rope shape. Curl each rope into a tight and flat spiral shape. Cover and allow spirals to sit at room temperature for 45 minutes.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Transfer spirals to baking sheet. Bake for 8 minutes. Rotate sheet and bake for an additional 8 minutes.
