Not a big fan of greens, but need to start eating some? Don’t suffer eating it bland and try this comforting and easy Green beans recipe. Instead of boiling the greens beans with salted water, sauté them with almonds to enhance the nutty flavor. Ditch the salted water, and sauté with style.

  • 1 ½ cups of trimmed green beans
  • 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil or extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to season
  • ½ cup of sliced almonds

In a mid-sized pot, boil 1 ½ cups of trimmed green beans for 5 five minutes in high heat and covered. Boil until the green beans are tender.
In mid-sized sauté pan or frying pan, add the oil and unsalted butter. Drain the beans and add them to the butter and oil.
Cook the beans for about 2 minutes and season them with salt and pepper. Add the almonds and stir them with the green beans until the beans are tender crisp.
