Grilled Ham And Cheese In The Crockpot

- 2 C. packed brown sugar
- 4 lb. cured, bone-in picnic ham
- 1 loaf sourdough bread
- ½ lb. provolone cheese, sliced
Spread about 1 ½ C. of sugar on the bottom of the crock pot. Place ham flat side down in the crock pot. With hands rub remaining brown sugar onto the ham. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Remove from crock pot and place on cutting board. Cut into slices. Prep the sandwiches to cook. Butter one side of a slice of bread and place onto a pan over medium heat. Layer with cheese and ham. Top with a second slice of bread with one side covered with mustard and the other with butter. Place mustard side on top of ham. Let one side brown, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and repeat. Remove and serve.
