3-4 servings
Ingredients
- 3 Tbs. butter
- 4-6 med. onions, sliced (adjust to your desire for more or less onions)
- 1 Tbs. sugar
- 2 Tbs. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 beef bullion cubes crushed
- 1 1/2 Tbs. Kitchen Banquet browning and seasoning sauce
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 C. bread crumbs
- 1/4 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1 1/2 C. of water
Directions
With fork, mix beef bread crumbs and seasoned salt, then shape into 6 patties. You can either fry the patties in a large pan or cook under the broiler until almost cooked through. Remove from frying pan and drain off grease, add butter to pan, and add onions and sugar. Fry over medium heat until browned, then add cornstarch, salt, bullion cubes, bottled sauce, and 1 1/2 cups water. Cook and stir constantly until mixture thickens, add the cooked patties back to the pan, and spoon sauce and onions over them. Reduce to a simmer and cover, cook another 10-15 minutes, and serve. Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or my favorite- french fries- which taste great in the gravy.
