  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 2/3 cup brown rice
  • ½ pound ground turkey
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/3 cup water1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon dried celery flakes
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper to season

Boil 1 ½ cups water in a large saucepan and then add the rice. Reduce the heat, cover the pan, and simmer for 50 minutes. Transfer the rice to a bowl. Add the turkey to the skillet and cook the meat over medium heat for 3 minutes before stirring in the bell pepper, garlic, and onion. Cook for 8 more minutes. Stir back in the rice and add the remaining ingredients. Simmer the pot and cook for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
