Harvest Cherry Pie
Ingredients
- Pastry for 2 crust pie
- 1 1/3 C. (one half 28 oz. jar) None Such Ready to use Mincemeat (regular or Brandy & Rum)
- ¾ C. chopped nuts
- 1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling
- 1 egg yolk plus 2 Tbs. water, optional
Directions
Place rack in lower half of oven; preheat oven to 425 degrees. In small bowl, stir together mincemeat and nuts; turn into pastry lined 9 inch pie plate. Spoon cherry pie filling over mincemeat. Cover with top crust; cut slits near center. Seal and flute. For a more golden crust, mix egg yolk and water; brush over entire surface of pie. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or cool. Garnish as desired.
