  • 2 medium yellow onions, sliced thinly
  • 4 medium cloves garlic, sliced thinly
  • 1 C. chicken broth
  • 1 Tbs. packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbs. chili powder
  • 1 Tbs. sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 (4 1/2-5 lb.) boneless pork shoulder
  • 2 C. barbecue sauce

Place the garlic and onions on the bottom of a crockpot. Rub the pork shoulder with the sugar, chili powder, cumin, and cinnamon. Place it in the crockpot and cover with the chicken broth. Cook on low for 6 to 10 hours, or until the pork is tender enough to shred with forks. Serve it topped with your favorite barbecue sauce.
