  • 4 Tbs. flour, divided
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 1/2 lb. beef stew meat, cubed
  • 1 Tbs. canola oil
  • 2 C. water
  • 3 Tbs. tomato paste
  • 2 tsp. beef bouillon granules
  • 1 tsp. dried basil, divided
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder, divided
  • 3 C. peeled potatoes, quartered
  • 3 C. small onions, chopped
  • 2 Tbs. fresh parsley, minced

In a large Ziploc bag combine 4 tablespoons flour, paprika, and pepper. Add the beef and shake the bag to coat it. Brown the beef in oil over medium, then add the water, tomato paste, bouillon, basil, and garlic powder. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 1 hour, until meat is tender. Add the potatoes, parsley and onions and cover and simmer another 30 minutes. Serve with extra parsley on top.
