Hearty Beef Stew
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. lean stewing beef, cubed
- 2 cans tomato sauce
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- oregano to taste
- 1 med. onion, chopped
- carrots, sliced
- celery stalks, sliced
- flour
- potatoes, cut in serving pieces
Directions
Wash and dry meat. Salt and pepper and flour meat. Brown in hot fat, lower flame to simmer, add hot water to cover meat. Add chopped onion and simmer for at least an hour or until meat is tender. Then add the tomato sauce, vegetables and oregano. Cook until the potatoes are done.
