Hearty Broccoli Rabe

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. broccoli rabe
- 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- pinch crushed red pepper
- 1/3 C. olive oil
- 5 1/2-inch thick slices white bread, cut into sm. pieces
Directions
Separate broccoli into florets. Trim off the base of the stems. Cut each floret crosswise into 1-inch pieces. Bring a lg. pot o water to a boil. Add the broccoli and salt to taste. Cook until the broccoli is almost tender, 5 minutes. Drain. In a large skillet, cook garlic and red pepper in oil for 1 minute. Stir in the bread cubes and cook, stirring often until bread is lightly toasted, 3 minutes. Stir in broccoli and a pinch of salt. Cook for 5 more minutes. Serve hot.
