Ingredients
- 1 C. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 C. white sugar,
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 6 Tbs. frozen butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 C. boiling water
- 2 Tbs. cornstarch
- 1/4 C. cold water
- 1 Tbs. juice from lemon
- 4 C. frozen or fresh blackberries

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). In a food processor, mix the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add vanilla. Pulse in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Pour in 1/4 cup boiling water just until mixture is evenly moist. In a separate bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in cold water. Mix in remaining 1 cup sugar, lemon juice, and blackberries. Transfer to a cast iron skillet, drop dough into the skillet by spoonfuls. Bake for 45 minutes in the preheated oven, until dough is golden brown.
