  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 29 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 12 oz. pkg. lasagna noodles
  • 12 oz. cottage cheese
  • 1/2 C. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 16 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

In a large skillet over medium heat cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until brown. Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, and oregano and stir unti well incorported. Cook until heated through. In a large bowl mix together the cottage cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and shredded mozzarella cheese. Spoon a layer of the meat mixture onto the bottom of the slow cooker. Add a double layer of the uncooked lasagna noodles. Break to fit noodles into slow cooker. Top noodles with a portion of the cheese mixture. Repeat the layering of sauce, noodles, and cheese until all the ingredients are used. Cover and cook on low heat in slow cooker for 6 to 8 hours.

  • I LOVED THIS RECEIPE AND MY HUSBAND DID TOO! BUT I HAD TO USE THIS AS A GUIDELINE , I HAVE A WIDE CROCKPOT AND I HAD TO USE EXTRA ON EVERYTHING . I ADDED JUST A LITTLE ITALIAN SWEET SAUAGE TO MY 1 LB BURGER , AND I ADDED A BOUT 1 CUP FIRE ROASTED DICE TOM TO THE SAUCES AND MEAT , THEN I ADDED SPICES LIKE BASIL AND EXTRA GARLIC AND OTHER SPICES DEPENDIMG ON WHAT YOU LIKE, UNTIL I GOT THE TASTE I LIKED ., I ALSO NEEDED EXTRA CHEESE MIXTURE .   • Remember that any time you use uncooked pasta to a dish, you need to make sure you have enough liquid (sauce.) The noodles absorb more liquid in order to cook and can leave a dish very dry.

  • Tried this recipe and found the "sauce" to be too acidic and otherwise bland. Also, the noodles were overcooked and gummy.

  • Very good dish. However, be careful about the cooking time! Mine was over coooked at six hours. I even had sprayed the bottom of the crock pot with non stick spray and the very bottom came out burnt. I checked it at 4 hours and believe it was done then. I should have turned it off. I changed/addedsome ingredients and other than the bottom being burnt it was delicious! I used 1lb. of italian ground sausage instead of the hamburger.   • This is a great recipe on a busy day. I added a 14 oz can diced tomatoes drained instead of tomato paste. Substituted mild italian sausage for part of ground beef. I added 2 eggs & about 2 tsp parsley flakes to cheese mixture. 5 hr was enough in my crockpot.
