Hidden Valley Ranch Chili
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 1 C. chopped onion
- 1-2 C. water
- 1 large can whole tomatoes
- 2-3 small cans tomato sauce
- 1/2 C. chili powder
- 1-2 tsp. cumin
- 1 Tbs. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- Tiny dash cayenne pepper
- 1 can Ranch-style beans
Directions
Brown meat together with onion. When thoroughly cooked, drain meat in colander; rinse thoroughly with hot water to remove grease. Return mixture to large kettle; add water.
Add whole tomatoes, cutting or squishing into bite sized pieces. Add tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, cayenne and pepper. Stir well. Last of all, add beans with juice. Adjust flavor. If too hot, add 1-2 tsp. sugar. Not hot enough? Increase cayenne pepper!

#1-The name & the caption say that there is ranch dressing in the recipe, but there isn't any mention of ranch dressing in the ingredients or the instruction. Ranch-style beans is the closest ingredient, & the ones I'm familiar with don't have anything to do with ranch dressing.
#2-After putting all the ingredients in the kettle, what do you do? Do you dish it up & eat it, or do you cook it? If you cook it, how fast & how long?
