8 popcorn balls


  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 18 cups popped corn

Combine sugar, water, corn syrup, salt and vinegar in a medium saucepan. Cook over high heat until at the hard ball stage or 255 degrees (use a candy thermometer).

Stir vanilla into the candy mix.  Carefully pour the mixture over the popped corn and toss to coat evenly.  Once the mixture is cool to handle form it into balls using greased hands. Let the balls cool completely on waxed paper.
