Holiday Sugar Cookies

Simple and easy! Make the dough ahead of time and pop them in the oven whenever.

  • 1 C. butter or margarine
  • 3/4 C. firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 C. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbs. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 4 C. all purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt

Combine butter and sugars, beat until fluffy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into batter. Cover and chill 3-4 hours. Roll out about 1/3 of the dough to 1/8th thickness on lightly floured board. Cut into desired shapes. Bake at 375 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes or until done. Cool, decorate.
