These shrimp skewers are made even more delicious by marinating them in a tangy homemade barbecue sauce. The shrimp are great served as an appetizer or as the meat in a meal.

  • 1 C. ketchup
  • 3 Tbs. lime juice
  • 2 Tbs. oil
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. hot pepper sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1 lb. (16-20) raw shrimp, shelled and deveined

Mix the ketchup, lime juice, oil, soy sauce, hot pepper sauce, garlic powder, and ginger in a dish. Thread the shrimp onto skewers and pour half the sauce over them. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, turning them once. Grill the shrimp until they are cooked through, about 3 to 5 minutes. Use the remaining sauce to dip.
