Homemade Beef Stew
Serving Size / Yield
- 1 lb beef round roast; cut into cubes
- 2 Tbs all purpose flour
- 2 Tbs vegetable oil
- 2 onions; diced
- 2 garlic cloves; chopped
- 1 package beef stock
- 3 carrots; sliced
- 3 C baby red potatoes; cubed
- 2 C water
- 2 Tsp Worcestershire sauce
In a bowl, add the flour and toss in the beef. Mix until beef is well coated. Set aside.
In a large pan or skillet, heat the oil over medium heat and cook the beef until it is brown on all sides. Once it is brown, remove and set aside.
Using the same pan/skillet, stir fry the onions and garlic until they become tender and fragrant. Then pour in the beef stock, beef, water and Worcestershire sauce.
Bring the ingredients to a boil while stirring the contents. Then bring it down to a simmer, close the lid and let it cook for 40 minutes until beef is almost tender.
Later, thrown in the cut up carrots and potatoes, stir them in and continue to let it simmer for another 40 minutes until vegetables become tender.
When all the ingredients are cooked and ready, remove from heat, plate and serve
