Corn dogs are arguably the perfect warm weather food! These corn dogs are deep fried in a rich cornmeal batter and placed on sticks. Try this recipe so you can enjoy the carnival favorite at home!

  • 1 C yellow cornmeal 

  • 1 C all-purpose flour 

  • 1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper 

  • 1/4 C white sugar
4 tsp baking powder 

  • 1 egg 

  • 1 C milk 

  • 1 qt vegetable oil
16 hot dogs

  • 16 skewers

Combine cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper, sugar and baking powder in bowl, then stir in eggs and milk. Insert skewers into hot dogs.

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Roll skewered dogs in batter, thoroughly coating them.

Fry corn dogs until batter is light brown, or for about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels and serve with mustard.
