  • 2 cups of flour
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons of vinegar
  • 3 teaspoons of salt
  • 4 cod filets
  • 2 lbs. potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly length-wise
  • Oil for frying

Heat oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Fry potatoes in handful of batches at a time, for about 10 minutes each bath. Drain oil and set aside on paper towels.
In a bowl, mix flour, salt and malt vinegar together. Coat each cod filet in the batter then fry in oil for about 10 minutes.
Serve fish and chips together with a side of mayo!
