In the mood for a good Gyro, but don’t want have the energy to go out to buy one? With this recipe, you can make your with the help of Instant Pot. Treat yourself to a delicious homemade Gyro in less than an hour.

  • 1 ½ lb. of beef chuck roast
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoons of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoons of oregano
  • ½ teaspoons of salt
  • ¼ teaspoons of pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup of water
  • Salt and pepper to season
  • Soft Pita bread
  • Shredded lettuce, for garnish
  • Sliced tomatoes, for garnish
  • Sauce:
  • 1 cup of plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 cup cucumber, diced
  • 1 tablespoon of dried dill
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and pepper to season

Drizzle a small amount of oil to the instant pot. Place the beef, onions, garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper and lemon juice to the pot and stir well. Cover and set the valve to “sealing”. Set the instant pot to “manual” and cook for 30 minutes.
Once the 30 minutes are up, let the meat sit there for 15 minutes before opening. Give it a good stir and season with salt and pepper if necessary.
Tzatziki sauce:
Using a small mixing bowl, mix together the plain Greek yogurt, cucumber, dill, salt, and garlic. Continue to stir the sauce until is nice and creamy. Season with salt and pepper if necessary.
Serve the beef over soft Pita bread. Garnish with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and Tzatziki sauce.
