  • Dough:
  • 1 tsp. butter, melted
  • 3 C. flour
  • ½ C. water
  • ½ C. milk
  • Salt
  • Filling:
  • 1 T. farmer’s cheese
  • 5 potatoes, boiled
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • ½ tsp. onion powder
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 T. olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Go ahead and make the dough first. Place the flour into a bowl. Add in the salt, milk and melted butter. Slowly pour the water into the bowl. Work the dough until you can form a large dough ball. Let it sit for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, make the filling. Boil the potatoes in a pot filled with water and a pinch of salt. Drain the potatoes once they are cooked. Transfer them into a bowl. Add in the cheese, water, onions, onion powder, and garlic powder. Salt and pepper to taste. Mix everything up with your hands. Place to the side. Roll out the dough. Cut into circles with a glass. Add filling into each circle. Wet one half of the dough and seal the edges together. Boil a pot of water with a pinch of salt. Once it starts to boil, add about 8-10 perogi. They should rise; once they rise they are done. Repeat with remaining perogi. Serve and enjoy.
