  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 C. warm water
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 C. all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbs. water
  • Coarse Salt

Preheat your oven at 400 degrees F. Mix yeast in bowl with warm water until in dissolves. Stir in sugar, salt and 2 C. flour. Combine until smooth. Stir in remaining flour. Knead flour on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes. Cut dough into small pieces and roll into ball. Allow to rest for about 10 minutes. Rough out dough into strings and make pretzel shape. Place pretzels on baking sheet. Whisk eggs with water in small bowl. Brush egg mixture on top of pretzels. Sprinkle with salt. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
