  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 ½ sticks butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 lb. figs, peeled and chopped
  • 1 lb. apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • ¼ C. honey
  • 1 T. lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a saucepan, melt ½ stick of butter and add figs, apples, honey, and lemon juice. Heat and stir until tender, about 5 to 10 minutes. Transfer to the bottom of a greased cake pan. Sprinkle cake mix over apple and fig mixture. Top with remaining pieces of butter and bake for 50 minutes to an hour. Drizzle with extra honey and serve.
